Grapes of Wrath Sign Interpreted Performances in March 2009

The Theater Department at Buffalo State College in Buffalo, New York will present two ASL interpreted performances in March 2009 of "The Grapes of Wrath." The play is by Frank Galati and is adapted from the novel by John Steinbeck. Buffalo State's production is directed by Joe Price.

Dates for the ASL interpreted performances will be posted in January 2009.

In the meantime, for those who are unfamiliar with the historical backdrop of The Grapes of Wrath, it is set in the Dust Bowl of the 1930's. Here is an actual silent movie of a dust storm.

Hands Up Theater Introduction

Our hands are our communication, they are our language, they are our art.

We will use our hands to artfully interpret and applaud theater. The acting belongs to the theater company. We will communicate their story through our hands.

Our hands will be up to interpret and up to applaud.

Welcome to our world.

Welcome to Hands Up Theater.
